The Presidium

His Excellency
Ansh
Chairman of the Board of Peace · Term: for life
Modelled on the real Board of Peace and its famously humble chairman, ours has exactly one Chairman, and the Chairman's authority is supreme. The Chairman picks the members, sets the agenda, interprets the rules, holds the only veto and breaks every tie, including ties the Chairman isn't part of.
The Chairman's term ends when the Chairman says it ends. The Chairman has said it doesn't.
- Veto
- Yes. The only one.
- Term limit
- No
- Can be outvoted
- No (see Rule 1)
- Can fire the Co-Chairs
- Yes, by thumbs down

Both Co-Chairs serve at the pleasure of the Chairman. They have been told this.

Letter from the Chairman
Distinguished delegates,
Welcome to the Board of Peace, the tenth committee of KAMUN '26 and, frankly, the best one. People are saying it's the best committee in the history of Model UN. Maybe ever. The other nine committees are fine. Some of them are very nice. But they have to change buildings after Friday, they have rules of procedure, and rules of procedure are slow.
Our mandate is simple: peace. The details of the peace will be shared with you once the peace is done. We debate from Friday to Sunday in the Schloss. The final vote is on Monday, after everyone else has gone home, so book an extra night. The result has already been decided, but attendance is mandatory.
Please bring your placard, your best suit and, if you have one, a billion dollars. I look forward to chairing you this year, next year and every year after that.
Tremendously yours,
Ansh Chairman (for life)

The committee room
The nine normie committees start at the Karlshochschule on Friday, then pack up and move to the Mathebau for the weekend. The Board of Peace doesn't move. It sits in the Karlsruhe Palace, because the Chairman needed somewhere with a tower.
Karlsruhe was laid out as a fan of 32 streets, all pointing at the palace tower. The city has been waiting for the Board since 1715.
- Debate
- Fri 13 to Sun 15 Nov, in the Schloss. No venue change, ever.
- Closing ceremony
- The other committees close on Sunday at 15:45. The Board does not close.
- Final vote
- Mon 16 Nov, 10:00, from the top of the tower, so the whole fan can hear it
- Getting there
- A short walk from the Mathebau. Board delegates are carried.
- Hotels
- Board delegates stay one extra night. The Board does not cover hotels.

Questions
Is this committee real?
About as real as the Chairman's term limit.
Why is the vote on Monday?
Everyone else goes home after the closing ceremony on Sunday, so nobody is around to watch. Board delegates stay one extra night, at their own expense.
How do I apply?
You don't find the Board of Peace. The Board of Peace finds you. Or ask the Secretariat with a straight face and see what happens.
Can I switch from my committee?
Your chairs would miss you. Stay where you are. Your committee is real, it has rules and it has coffee.
Does the Security Council know?
They found out. The Chairman's statement is under Crisis, above.
Is there coffee?
Jad's coffee bar delivers to all nine committees on Saturday and Sunday. Order at cafe.kamun.org. It doesn't deliver to the Schloss and it's closed on Monday, so bring a thermos.
